If so, I'll simply have to search twice for each lens - once with each version of how the size is displayed. I'll do some checking of image take with other lenses, to see if their EXIF lens info is also affected after being adjusted in Camera Raw. In any even, not the end of the world, as it were. The EXIF utility displays it as would be expected (150-600), so nothing to change there. It seems as though the creation of the XPM file triggers the change in the EXIF Camera Info section from 150-600, to 150.0-600.0. From there, I may do some editing, but mostly I crop to various sizes and save those as separate files. I then save a copy of the file as a PSD (Photoshop Document). Once I open a RAW file in Photoshop (CC2018) and make an adjustment in Camera Raw, an XMP sidecar file is created (of course). If I look at a Nikon RAW file (as shot) in ACDSee, lens model shows as 150-600. I then stumbled onto the cause (although I don't know WHY it happens). After you mentioned the lens model also being in the Maker Notes, I checked and YES, it is there, BUT - consistently lists the lens as I would expect. I have a utility called EXIFPro which does much the same as you described. Thank you for also responding to this question, Greyfox. Also note that the Lens Model is probably written into both EXIF and Makers Notes metadata. Note that changing it might affect the auto application of lens distortion and Chromatic Aberration correction in Develop mode if the images are RAW. That will allow you to examine what the camera has actually written into the image's metadata as the Lens Model, and to change it if you want to. Is there a way in ACDSee ? If not, can you suggest software for editing EXIF that COULD make this change ? Thank you in advance to anyone who can offer assistance.Use the free ExifTool by Phil Harvey. Do not seem to be able to edit this data field. Since I sometimes search my images to find those shots taken with a certain lens, I want to have the lens description be consistent. Within a series of shots taken with same gear and say within an hour, EXIF metadata shown in ACDSee lists the Lens Model for most images as 150-600 mm f/5.0-6.3, but for SOME images, it lists the lens as 150.0-600.0 mm f/5.0-6.3.
